Hexapod systems

:: Last minute information  

SYMETRIE has moved in its new facilities. The 600m² building is dedicated to metrology. It includes a fully optimized production plant and an engineering department equipped with the latest technologies.

:: JWST positioning hexapod system 

JWST hexapodSYMETRIE realized a positioning system composed of two hexapods. They are dedicated to CCD sensor control. The controlled CCD sensors will be integrated inside JWST space telescope that will replace Hubble telescope.  (Nasa, ESA, CEA-Dapnia)

The first hexapod, Sonora, is used to adjust a 200 kg cryostat integrating Mirim sensor. The other one Zephyr realizes optical laser positioning with a 0.1µm resolution and a 40 mm course. 



:: Swell motion simulator 

Mistral HexapodSYMETRIE is the European leading manufacturer of motion simulator hexapods. Dedicated to specific laboratories and research department of universities, SYMETRIE's hexapods allow swell motion simulation tests inside research rooms. 

MATERIAL RESISTANCE CHECKING:  this range of powerful hexapod can generate up to 2g acceleration motion with tons payloads.
MOTION MEASUREMENT: SYMETRIE's motion hexapods are very accurate and provide millimetre accuracy during motion.

:: 2 tons supports positioning and measurement
Positioning hexapodSYMETRIE developed a positioning process made of both measurement instruments and hexapod. This complete system answers customer issues by positioning and checking a 2t payload tank. Moreover, SYMETRIE trained operators to realize adjustment operations in an industrial room.

This application requests a precision of 1/100e mm and 0.015° (horizontality). SYMETRIE's technicians have monitored the operations from its beginning to its end.  Up today, 800 supports have already been positioned.


:: Telescope M2 mirror positioning by hexapod

telescope mirror positioningSYMETRIE was awarded by AMOS to develop a high accuracy adjustment hexapod system for telescope M2 mirror positioning.

This micrometer hexapod will significantly increase telescope performances thanks to its optical system accuracy. SYMETRIE has a strong knowledge in supplying systems dedicated to optical applications. For example, SYMETRIE hexapods are also used by operators for satellites assembling.
